ROMANIA was one of the foreign states who maintained a Post Office within the
former Empire of TURKEY, also known as the Levant. This Post Office operated on
board of a Romanian vessel to circulate consular mail from Constantinople.
Stamps were issued in 1896 and for a short while in 1919.
