part. An agricultural country with livestock breeding.
Formerly the British Colony of BASUTOLAND autonomous since 1965. Declared its
independence on October 4th, 1966 as Kingdom of Lesotho. A member of the
British Commonwealth (see GREAT BRITAIN (U.K.)).
First stamps issued in 1966. Indirect UPU membership from October 1896 as
British Protectorate, direct since September 6th, 1967. Annual output about 100.
