A Kingdom located in south-eastern Africa. Economy is based on mining and agriculture.
Following a treaty between SOUTH AFRICA (R.S.A.) Republic (TRANSVAAL) and GREAT BRITAIN (U.K.)
in 1889, Swaziland was administrated by their both representatives, in addition
to an agent of the Swazi King. After changing protector ship several times, it
finally became a British Protectorate in 1906 and self-governing state in 1967.
Independent since September 6th, 1968. The Kingdom is a member of the British
Commonwealth.
First stamps issued in 1889. Indirect UPU membership from March 20th, 1934 as
British Protectorate, direct since November 7th, 1969. Annual output about 10.
