A former stamp issuing entity, the most southern part of German East Africa, on
the coast of the Indian Ocean, which was occupied by the Portuguese during World
War I. Under the Versailles Treaty it became part of MOZAMBIQUE, a former
Colony of PORTUGAL. Stamps were issued in 1916, overprints on stamps of LOURENCO MARQUES.
