A Republic, located off northwestern Russia, on the Baltic Sea.
Estonian's most prominent products are oil shale, shipbuilding, phosphates,
cement, furniture and textiles. Formerly part of the Empire of RUSSIA, declared its
independence in 1918 as a Republic. In 1940 it incorporated into the Union of Soviet Socialist
Republics (see RUSSIA, Soviet Union). During 1941-1944 occupied by Germany.

Estonia regained its freedom in 1991 with the collapse of the Soviet Union, since then
