A former territory of FRANCE and Federation in central Africa, (formerly FRENCH CONGO),
established in 1910, comprising the four self governing dependencies of
MIDDLE CONGO, GABON, UBANGI-SHARI and CHAD (TCHAD) which also continued
issuing stamps separately.
Stamps with overprints 'Afrique Equatoriale Francaise' were first issued in 1924,
however, those of the colonies were valid throughout the territory of French
Equatorial Africa. From 1936 stamps were issued with the definite inscription.
In 1958 French Equatorial Africa was re divided to separate entities. Stamp
issuing between 1936-1958.
