Military issues for use of the Free French Forces in the occupied territories
of SYRIA, LEBANON (GRAND LIBAN) and Libya (see FEZZAN and GHADAMES)
from June 1941 until 1943. The Free French movement was founded during
World War II by General Charles De Gaulle together with other
Frenchmen who opposed the Vichy government and by radio broadcasts from London,
encouraged the French people to resist the German occupation.
