Information
Several Arab states in the Persian Gulf, although being independent, had
British Postal administration. BAHRAIN and KUWAIT from 1948 and QATAR from 1950
used British stamps surcharged with Indian currency. MUSCAT from April 1st 1948
to April 29th 1966, DUBAI from April 1st 1948 to January 6th 1961, ABU DHABI
from March 30th 1963 to March 29th 1964.
